We used to have a horse when I was a little girl. My father bought one because we needed a horse to transport our crops from the mountains to the town. The road to our farm was unpaved, which made it quite hard to visit the farm without a transportation. But now that our town government has developed the roads to our farms, the need for horses has declined. Most people now own jeeps or 4WD trucks to visit their farm, and the trucks replaced the need for horses to carry our crops into town.
This is just one of the many uses of the animal we call a horse. I am a horse-lover myself and I am quite fond of horsey movies such as War Horse or The Black Stallion. I remember this Hollywood movie where a little girl plays the role of a jockey and they need to win the race in order to have the prize money and get their farm back from usurpers. I get all teary eyed whenever I watch this movie because of the love that the girl and the horse had for each other. I also remember saw this other movie about a rich young woman’s love of horses and trail adventures. She was so good at handling the horses and communicated with them by using her body language, and ooh, really loved her clothes. It was similar to those Gatehouse rider wear from places like equestrianclearance.com that I usually see most horseback riders wearing.
Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if I had pursued my love for horseback riding from a young age, maybe I would have developed the skills that an experienced equestrian needs then maybe, just maybe, I could represent my country in the next Olympics (a girl can dream).

Here, let me share a photo of me wearing horseback riding in my leisurely gear. This photo was taken in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 2 years ago. And believe me, there is a cute little story behind this little adventure. The horse was agitated during my ride and it galloped so fast that the Malaysian boy holding the rope was dragged behind us all the way, but it wasn’t scary at all because I was having FUN. By the way, this photo was taken before the horse ran away with me.
